World Malaria Day took place yesterday raising awareness of the disease that kills thousands each year. In the past year knowledge of the disease has increased due to celebrity Cheryl Cole and footballer Didier Drogba contracting the disease.
The aim of campaign is “towards malaria control and elimination and to renew efforts towards achieving the target of zero malaria deaths by 2015.” If your travelling into a Malariaous zone you need to be take Malaria tablets, however the chance of a bit can be reduced by using insect repellent and also clothing.
