This summer, BBC Scotland are planning to film Dave Macleod and Tim Emmett, two well known figures in the climbing world, ascending the Sron Uladail on the Isle of Harris. Not only will the climb be broadcast live but it will also be in high definition – a world’s first.
The climb will be aired on BBC Two in Scotland and on the BBC HD channel for the rest of the UK on August 28. The running time is expected to be about six hours.
As part of the programme, the two climbers will also attempt to ascend five world-class routes in the Outer Hebrides in just five days in the hope that they achieve a world record.
Outdoor enthusiasts are now able to experience the adrenaline from extreme wall climbing without stepping a foot outside with Berghaus’s new online extreme wall climbing game.
Players have to lead their climber through several stages, battling the elements, before reaching the summit of Mount Asgard.
The game also includes a feature whereby players can connect to Facebook and unlock awards, video content from the movie and add their name to the leaderboard. Also, by connecting to Facebook, players can invite their Facebook friends to play the game and compete against each other.
So, if you aren’t able to get outdoors but need that adrenaline fix then why not try it out at www.climbmountasgard.com
