The North Face Rock 22 tent is a two berth tent which utilises cutting edge design and technology. The tent is quick to pitch with three main parts, poles, inner canpoy and flysheet. There’s three poles which use the DAC Press-Fit® technology to fit together, the poles clip onto the canpoy using a colour code system. The canpoy then rests on top of the tent.
The flysheet features a “bathtub design” keeps any water, mud or bugs out of the tent. Inside there are two large pockets to put your gear, the gear attic for extra space and loops in the roof to hang gear. There’s two doors to get in and out, which is great for when you need to get out in the middle of the night, you shouldn’t have to climb over your partner!
It’s 2.59kg to carry about which is light for back packers, not the lightest you can get. But weight can be reduced as you can pitch the Rock 22 as a fly-only tent.
There’s no doubt that the The North Face Rock 22 tent is at the high end of the market in two man tents. If you really serious about camping and going to be going more than 3-6 times a year then the extra cost is worth it for the build quality, features and weight.
