New from Brasher are the Brasher Mens Kuga GTX multi-activity shoes, a bit of an allrounder!
Also available in a women’s version, the men’s Kuga GTX has been designed for a multitude of activities from walking to cycling to running. It’s a lightweight shoe weighing in at around 916g for a pair of size 9.
On the top of the shoe and the tongue is a breathable mesh which keeps the air flowing to avoid your feet getting too sweaty. The material is also lightweight helping to further reduce the overall weight.
Around the collar Memory Foam padding has been used to provide a more comfortable fit while a GORE-TEX® lining keeps everything dry inside the shoe.
The sole has a high level of grip with hard plastic areas in the middle to provide rigidity to the shoe and also protection when you’re walking over rocks etc. At the front of the shoe is a hard toe cap for added protection around the toes. Overall the sole, heel and toe area is well protected, it’s going to take some serious wear and tear to cause any damage to the bottom half of the shoe.
Trying them on they are very very comfy, helped by a thick inner sole which has two extra padding areas on the ball of your foot and heel. See the pics to the left with the inner sole taken out.
I’ve worn them out for an afternoon shopping, with them being a cross between normal trainers and walking shoes they go well with shorts or walking trousers. I’ve been for a quick walk over the weekend around the Mersey River in South Manchester – no blisters and hardly any scratches on the soles, as mentioned they are pretty tough.
Prices are around £100, with sizes ranging from 7 up to 12 with half sizes for the men. There’s only one colour at the moment, grey with an orange trim on the laces and tongue.
Overall the Brasher Kuga GTX are a really nice comfy pair of shoes to have in your collection. Great for outdoor adventures, as well as when you’re not climbing mountains or in wet conditions. Overall a good allrounder that will last for some time.
