Back from Mexico!

Hola, we’ve been away on holiday in Mexico recently hence the lack of blog posts or product reviews. We had a great time near to Playa del Carmen which is south of Cancun. While on the week’s beach holiday we managed a day out to one of the wonders of the world Chichen Itza.

As well as being a great day out it was a great chance to test out some gear including the Berghaus Men’s Cuesta II Multi-Activity Shoes and the Berghaus Freeflow Pro 30 Rucksack all performed really well!

Vango To Help Machu Picchu Celebs

Vango are set to help a set of celebrities who will be treking Machu Picchu in Peru later this month in aid of the Breast Cancer Care charity.

The team consists of celebrities Fearne Cotton and Denise van Outen who have in the past climbed Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief in 2009. They are joined by singer  Alexandra Burke and TV presenter Holly Willoughby.

Vango helped out the 2009 Kilimanjaro team and they’ll be doing the same with Force Ten Vortex tents, an Icarus tent which will be used as the medical centre, sleeping bags, as well as walking poles, hydration packs, headtorches and lots more kit.

Included in the team are six women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s all being filmed in a documentary which will be show on ITV2. The trip 24 September and will last for 9 days with 8 hour daily treks.

Vango and Force 10 Marketing Manager Lisa Allan said: “We are thrilled to be involved with this great cause and we will look forward to receiving updates from the group as they progress on the trek. We will be promoting the challenge through our own communication channels to help raise awareness of the disease and the work Breast Cancer Care does.”

Glastonbury 2011 Tickets to go on sale

Glastonbury 2011 ticket details have been announced with a hike in prices. Last year tickets were priced at £185 + £5 booking fee per ticket + £4.95 P&P per booking, this year prices are £195 (+ £5 booking fee and P&P) an increase of £10.

Tickets go on sale 9am on Sunday, October 3rd online and via phone, you can pay all upfront or pay a deposit of £50, then completed the fee from April 1st 2011.

The increased cost mens the festival breaks the £200 a ticket mark, for some this may be a little too expensive.
