Berghaus have a brand new TV advert for 2012 which should seen on small and big screens soon.
The video features some of Berghaus’s clan including Leo Houlding, Rob Jarman, Philippe Gatta, Sean Leary and Julia Pickering. It was filmed in locations that include Venezuela, Baffin Island and Italy!
We love Berghaus gear at Outdoor Enthusiasts and we’re very much looking forward to their new products this year. So we thought that we’d share some highlights of their new products for the autumn/winter 2011 collection.
Extrem Berghaus will use the new Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric in new Extrem jackets and trousers, including the Velum jacket and Velum smock. The fabric, which was developed under a partnership with W L Gore and Berghaus, is said to be “the most breathable Gore-Tex fabric ever”, and uses a lighter, thinner membrane and laminate technology. Clothing made from this fabric are ideal for fast paced adventurers.
Trail At the heart of the new Trail collection for autumn/winter 2011 is a range of men’s and women’s jackets and trousers made from two-layer Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabrics. The new lines are said to offer a combination of classic and contemporary styles.
Trail Sports Again, there will be the introduction of new jackets made using the new Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric. Berghaus has used the fabric in the minimalist men’s and women’s Rapide jackets which are waterproof and light—a men’s size large weighs in at just 219g.
Products in this category are designed for pretty much everyone. You don’t have to be in the mountains to be wearing high performance outdoor clothing! For men, Berghaus will be offering the new Brecon Jacket which delivers waterproof, breathable technology through the two-layer Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabric. The Brecon can be worn in the hills or on the high street. For women, there is the Aumont cold weather jacket made from a mixture of the company’s own water and wind resistant AF fabric and duck down fill.
For autumn/winter 2011, the company is offering the Foot Furnace Mids mountain boots for men and women, Prognosis boots for children, and the Faraja Leather boots and Sannine boots for women. We would expect all the boots to be manufactured to Berghaus’s highest standards.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any pictures to show you.
Berghaus has announced details of a tour of live shows for the autumn. The Berghaus Adventure Series will run from late October until early December and will see Mick Fowler and Leo Houlding entertain audiences at venues across England and Scotland.
The tour will kick off at the Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol, where Leo will talk about his recent adventures, including last year’s epic Asgard Project and his more recent escapades in Yosemite. In recent years Leo’s live appearances have proved to be very popular – he combines irreverence and entertainment with stunning photography and footage, and an insight into his ceaseless adventures around the world.
Mick’s first show will be at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester. He will have just returned from his latest expedition, which is taking him to the north side of the Xuelian massif in the Chinese Tien Shan range. Tien Shan has been off limits for many years but Mick managed to secure permits from the Chinese authorities for a four week visit during August and September. His is only the third mountaineering expedition ever to visit the area. Mick specialises in the exploration of remote, extremely challenging climbing areas and will talk about a long and varied career that has seen him labelled “the mountaineers’ mountaineer” by the Observer newspaper.
Leo Houlding comments: “I am really looking forward to being part of the first Berghaus Adventure Series. It is a real privilege to have the opportunity to share stories about my climbing career so far, and hopefully enthuse people about the outdoors and adventure. Over the years, I have been inspired by the words and images of many other climbers and I hope that I can both entertain and encourage others to explore and enjoy the world around them.”
The Berghaus Adventure Series kicks off on October 24th and runs through to December 2nd with a joint Leo and Mick lecture at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in London on November 27th. For further information and tickets, visit www.planetfear.com.
