A high altitude zip wire is being planned for a mountain in the Lake District. At 2,126 ft (648 m) high, the proposed Lancaster Aerial Flight will not be for the feint-hearted.

The zip wire will replicate a similar construction which existed there more than 80 years ago. The proposed zip wire will involve installing a cable running from the top of Fleetwith Pike down to the Honister Slate Mine Visitor Centre.

If the plans are approved, the attraction could open in the summer.
